May brings the sun, which makes me think of playing in my garden and the beach. The beach of course makes me think of trying on swimsuits (shudder). I know everyone else on the planet starts dieting in January, but not me. I start when I realize that I have to actually put on shorts and that dreaded swimsuit. So I thought I’d share how I tackle dropping a couple of pounds.
First some sort of exercise is really mandatory. The rule of thumb is 20 minutes to maintain and 40 minutes to lose, preferably five days a week. I try and find fun ways to exercise… volleyball, zumba, dancing, sailboat racing are all my favorites but a brisk walk with the dog works too. Remember… working out till it hurts is a myth some sadistic person dreamed up. Pain = I don’t want to work out so avoid pain!
Second, reach for Metabolic Blend oil or gel caps. If you use the oil you are looking to try and do 5 drops 5 times a day with lots of water. You can put it in a glass and drink it throughout the day, put it in a shot glass and shoot it or put it in a capsule. If you are using the pre-made gel caps, just 3 a day works. Make sure your water intake is half your body weight in ounces of water. Don’t skimp on the water. It really helps. Hate water? Add some lemon and stevia for a yummy faux lemonade.
Third, meals. Optimum is 5-6 small meals a day. If you do that many you can use up to two Trim Shakes (I have some recipes on Pinterest) for two of them. If you do three meals a day then just one. If you use Appetite Control bars remember they are meant to curb appetite. Don’t use them as a meal replacement. Use them as a snack timed about four hours when naughty cravings start. If you use the Appetite Control mix remember it needs a fat to bind with to work. Try and avoid refined foods and white carbs like white bread, white rice, sugar, etc. Replace those with whole grains.
Try and lim.it your sugar intake I’d prefer zero but I know it isn’t realistic for many. Try and use stevia as much as you can (I like Nunaturals brand), agave and honey as substitutes. Lean meats and lots of veggies and low glycemic index fruits are perfect. Avoid those low fat, diet and low sugar products. Just reduce the portions of the regular stuff. They don’t want you to know that low fat foods replace fat with sugar which is way worse for you than the fat. Low sugar products are loaded with chemicals and they really mess with your metabolism.
Tips… a couple things can happen when you start dieting, especially if you are avoiding sugar. To help manage desire for sweets, try putting a drop of fennel on your tongue and enjoy its sweet taste. If you start to have issues I suggest tapering a little slower. Sometimes if there is a little tummy distress it can be a sign of Candida overgrowth.
