Nail envy… I think most girls have it at one time or another. My mom has the perfect nails. Oval, long, and natural. She rarely files, polishes or does anything to them. Me on the other hand, my nails don’t look like that at all. They are more like rectangles and they have ridges and peel like crazy so I’ve kept them short for years. Or at least that is what I used to do. Now just like my hair they grow like crazy. It has been a big adjustment because I spend a good portion of my day on my laptop typing and if you’ve never had long nails then it is a big adjustment.
Nail envy... I think most girls have it at one time or another. How to get beautiful natural nails. Click To TweetSo what changed? I think it comes down to nutrition. I added doTERRA’s Lifelong Vitality Supplements to my diet and that is when my nails really started growing. You hear a lot about mega vitamins or taking mega doses of vitamins. I am definitely NOT going to tell you to do that or that is what I did. In fact, just the opposite I’m not a fan of mega doses of anything. My belief is that our body has a delicate balance and that we need to be mindful of that. Too much is bad and so is too little.
While other companies still sell millions of them, those compressed vitamins, where you take one a day and your urine turns florescent yellow, are full of synthetics and stuff our bodies can’t process. Our bodies are natural and they embrace natural raw things and reject synthetics as alien. So that inexpensive compressed vitamin really is just expensive urine. The right supplements will be made from raw natural ingredients and will be processed in a way that our body can take what it needs and easily flush what it doesn’t.
Mega doses of vitamins can have just the opposite reaction. Massive doses of synthetic supplements can overwork and stress the body. If you think of it like anything else, too much of a good thing is always bad… too much sun, too much chocolate cake and too much water. The key is finding a natural supplement in the optimum range. If you are taking it to ensure you have the healthiest skin, hair and nails then it needs to have just the right balance of Essential Fatty Acids which feed our brain as well as all of those things. Plus they have to be the right ones and most important they have to be safe. Many sources of healthy essential fatty acids have unhealthy issues like being loaded with mercury and other dangerous components. Finding a supplement that tests every batch for your safety is hard! I’m also a huge fan of Boswellic Acid. Few supplements have it but I find it makes me feel so much healthier and even though I took an essential fatty acid (from locally caught salmon) before this one-I didn’t see or feel the results I do now.
So I decided to do an experiment. I let my nails grow as long as I could until I couldn’t stand it any more (remember the typing thing) and then share it with you. The photo at the top is less than a month. I do have polish on because my daughter and I played with trying to do french nails on our own. And yes I did polish them but didn’t do anything else, after all what is the point of having long nails if you can’t make them pretty?
I love the way your nails look at the top. How can I do that. I’m really working hard on them with changing the polish every 3 days and use essential oil rubbed in and around each nail every night and they still don look like your. When I was younger, I had great nails even without polish, but now I really have to work to keep them from turning yellow.
I would appreciate any tips and advice you would like to share with me. Most Sincerely, Lu Bellamak
