After several cloudy, rainy days, I thought summer was over
and was settling in for our rainy season followed by our snowy season, but today I woke up to a gorgeous sunny warm day. The kind of day that makes my want to indulge in one of my guilty pleasures, laying in a sunbeam and reading until I fall asleep. If I believed in reincarnation, I’d suspect in one of my past lives I was a cat which is pretty ironic since I’m horribly allergic to them. That beautiful sunbeam was calling my name and reminding me of all the wonderful things I love about summer and what I’ll miss.
Fortunately, I have my essential oils and I’ve come up with some blends I can diffuse to take me back to the joy of summer when we have fewer light hours and 8” of rain in a day. I thought some of you might enjoy them to so I thought I’d share some of my favorites of how to capture the essence of Summer.
Yes I have a Sun Light & Ion Lamp, while it is nice, nothing I’ve tried has managed to create a satisfactory sunbeam, so when I diffuse my Sunbeam Blend and have the sun light on, shut my eyes it takes me back…
Summer for us means camping, hiking and taking out the sail boat. We have a beautiful lake I love to walk my dog around. I do it in rain gear, but it is no fun in a squall. My Great Outdoors Blend gets diffused when it is really nasty out and takes me there. Try it while you are on the tread mill!
Even though our rocky Alaskan shores and what we call beaches are really more like pebbles than sand, I love to walk or kayak along the shore. My favorite thing to do is explore when we have a minus tide. It is amazing the little creatures that you can find. Exotic starfish, octopus and even the occasional sea cucumber. It is really hard to beat that. When I’m getting that itchy want to explore feeling I diffuse my Ocean’s Caress Blend to remind me of the Ocean.
These blends can easily be turned into roller ball blends if you like scent. Just double or triple the amounts until you have thirty drops ‘ish’ as my daughter would say and add Fractionated Coconut Oil to fill. I hope you enjoy! If you have a favorite, please share!
