Christmas? I know it is a little bit early. Usually I don’t go into Christmas mode until December. But… doTERRA ran out of Holiday Peace and it smells so divine I was feeling a little guilty so I thought I’d get my apothecary on and come up with a DIY recipe so everyone could enjoy my version of it.
Many years ago my typically easy-going-wants-everyone-to-be-happy husband put his foot down and decided we were getting a fake tree. No more needles, no more fire hazard, no more dealing with the whole mess. The real tree was going the way of candles – exiled from the house. We were newly married and lets just say I didn’t take it well. When I finally figured out he wasn’t budging I did what any annoyed and completely irrational wife would do – I ordered the most expensive realistic looking Christmas tree I could find. Lets just say the bill was pretty jaw dropping, but the tree is beautiful and we still have it over 20 years later. But it is still a fake tree and it doesn’t smell like a real tree. So I like to use this to create the illusion of a real tree so both of us can be happy. You can diffuse this or just put a drop of each on a felt ornament.
If you want a blend that smells like Christmas… you know the pie is in the oven baking and you have a real Christmas Tree and oranges peeking out of stockings… this one is for you.
I call this one Merry and Bright because it is just a clearer fresher scent that still conveys Christmas.
Last but certainly not least… since I had my oils out I decided to play a little bit and come up with something that reminded me of a fresh snowfall, walking through the pines and a hint of candy cane.
I hope you enjoy these as much as I do! Please let me know which ones are your favs.
